Children & Youth Ministries

Children Ministries

Nursery
Is available for newborns through pre-school (0-4) during Sunday School and the 10:30 service. Parents are required to sign their child(ren) in and out. Parents will be notified by cell phone or in person if their child needs special attention.

Children's Chapel
We offer the Service of the Word especially for 4 through 8 year old children just after the start of the 10:30 worship service. Families gather together for worship in the church nave at 10:30, and the children are let to their chapel after the Children's Message. They return to the nave at the passing of the Peace so families may receive Communion together.

Sunday School
Each Sunday morning through the school year we offer Christian Education for children of all ages. All classes follow the Revised Common Lectionary and integrate the lessons used in that week's worship service.

Youth Ministries

Youth Group
Youth ministry at St. Andrew’s is very much a priority for our clergy, leadership and families. Youth ministry activities exist to engage our youth, their families and friends in an exciting and welcoming faith community. We believe we are called to help our young adults develop into their walk with Christ. Our Youth Group includes all youth ages 12 through high-school graduation and meets on 2nd and 4th Sundays. Additionally, they will be involved in outreach projects, retreats, and other adventures throughout the year.

Acolytes
Acolytes assist the clergy, carry crosses, torches, banners and help with the alms and sacramental elements during worship services.

Lay Readers
Youth Lay Readers, just as adults, present scripture readings during our worship services.

Camp Capers
Each summer, the Diocese of West Texas puts on one of the premier summer camping opportunities for youth in our area. Children are blessed to engage their faith within a community of believers. There are two sessions to choose from for rising 3rd graders through senior high students. Our desire is to make it possible for any child who wants to attend to go. To that end, each year we offer scholarships to assist with the cost of camp. For more information ask almost any parent or child in our parish or check out the Camp Capers website at: www.dwtx.org/campcapers.
