Worship Support Ministries

Acolytes assist the clergy in worship by bearing the processional crosses, torches, banners and flags, as well as other duties. Acolytes range in age from 4th grade to adult.

Altar Guild
Minster behind the scenes by ensuring that the altar is set, sacramental elements properly stocked, flowers are ordered and in place, and all Eucharistic vessels and vestments are cared for and maintained.

Chalice Bearers
These individuals assist the clergy during communion by administering the chalice to those coming forward to receive Holy Communion.

Lead the congregation in song as we worship Almight God.

Eucharistic Visitors
Minister to our members unable to be a part of the gathered body by taking God's Word and Holy Communion to them in their homes or hospital

Lay Readers
Assist in the Sunday worship services by reading portions of Holy Scripture for our instrution and inspiration.

Host/Hostess have the gift of hospitality. These are the parishioners that serve by welcoming all who walk through the doors of St. Andrew's. Their enthusiastic smiles and greetings are an important part of our hospitality to the community. Host and Hostess play an instrumental role in helping newcomers and visitors find their way around the church. They also help newcomers learn how to become involved in the life of the parish. They have the responsibility of gathering the collection during the offertory and bringing it to the altar, and assisting the congregation during communion. These servants represent the face of Jesus to each individual who walks through our doors

If you feel called to serve God through any of our Worship Support Ministries, or if you know of someone who would benefit from having a Eucharistic Minister visit them, please call the Church Office at 361.241.9240
